Privacy Policy (GDPR & CCPA)
1. Controller. ContentForgeHouse, registered at 07743 Beethovenstr. 15 Jena, Germany, is the data controller for personal data processed through this website. Contact: [email protected].
2. Data we collect. When you reach out or commission work, we collect the details you provide: name, email address, phone number, company name, project brief, and billing information required to issue invoices. Technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed may be collected via essential server logs and, where you consent, analytics cookies.
3. Legal bases (Art. 6 GDPR). We process contact and project data to take steps at your request prior to entering a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)), to perform the contract once signed, to comply with legal obligations including German commercial and tax retention law (Art. 6(1)(c)), and — for optional analytics — on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time.
4. Purposes. Personal data is used solely to respond to inquiries, prepare and deliver copywriting services, process payments through our payment provider, send service-related correspondence, and meet accounting requirements. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
5. Processors & transfers. We engage vetted processors for email delivery, hosting, analytics, and card payments (including Stripe). Where a processor handles data outside the European Economic Area, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision under Art. 46 GDPR.
6. Retention. Contact records are kept for up to 24 months after the last interaction. Invoices and accounting records are retained for the statutory 10-year period required under German law (§ 147 AO). You may request earlier deletion where no overriding legal duty applies.
7. Your rights. Under GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — for us, the Thüringer Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz.
8. CCPA notice (California residents). If you are a California resident, you have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, the purposes of use, and the categories of third parties with whom it is shared; to request deletion; and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. ContentForgeHouse does not sell personal information. To exercise CCPA rights, email [email protected] with the subject “CCPA Request.” We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
9. Children. Our services are directed at businesses and adults; we do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
10. Changes. Material changes to this policy will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
